I Know What You Did Last Summer is an American teen horror television series, written and executive produced by Sara Goodman. The series is based on Lois Duncan’s 1973 novel, which was also the basis of the iconic 1997 film. It was released on October 15, 2021 on Amazon Prime Video.

On January 7, 2022, Amazon Prime Video canceled the series after one season.[1]

Synopsis[]

One year after the fatal car accident that haunted their graduation night, a group of teenagers find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town—and themselves. Everyone is hiding something, and uncovering the wrong secret could be deadly.

On July 26, 2019, Amazon Studios announced that it will produce a television series based on Lois Duncan's 1973 novel I Know What You Did Last Summer, with Original Film's Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty serving as executive producers, James Wan directing, and Shay Hatten writing the pilot.[2] On October 14, 2020, it was announced that Amazon Studios gave the project a series order and that Sara Goodman had replaced Hatten as writer on the series. The series is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures TV. Goodman executive produces alongside Shay Hatten, Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Rob Hackett and Michael Clear who also served as director for the first episode. Erik Feig, who produced the 1997 feature with Moritz, also is an executive producer.[3]

On January 11, 2021, Madison Iseman, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom, Bill Heck joined the series as regulars.[4] On January 28, 2021, Sonya Balmores joined the series in a recurring role.[5] On February 19, 2021, Spencer Sutherland joined the series.[6]
